Who we are

Loom & Hide

Our Story

For generations, rugs have been more than floor coverings — they were heirlooms, woven with meaning, carrying the stories of families, regions, and traditions. Each pattern held a purpose, each color a memory, designed to endure and passed down through time.

But too often, these pieces of history end up forgotten, tucked away, or discarded.

At Loom & Hide, we repurpose vintage rugs — Berbers, Gabbehs, Kilims, and more — and pair them with premium full-grain leather to create one-of-one pieces. Each bag carries a story in its weave and its grain, and once it’s gone, it will never be repeated.

Every piece is finished in small workshops in Damascus and Morocco, where craftsmanship is rooted in tradition and carried forward with care. By working directly with artisans, we ensure fair wages, preserve skills passed down for generations, and create pieces that honor the past while serving the present.

But most of all, we focus on what makes Loom & Hide different: every bag is a true one-of-one. No repeats. No duplicates. Just a story you alone will carry.

Our Workshops

Our bags are made in small workshops in regions with centuries of leather and textile craft. These are not assembly lines; they are artisan studios where every piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand.

The Process:

Rugs: We source vintage rugs, 50–90 years old, discovered in villages and towns across Morocco and Turkey. Each carries the colors, motifs, and stories of its origin.

Leather: We use only the finest vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, chosen for its strength, character, and ability to age beautifully over time.

Finishing: Every piece is refined for durability and detail — blending heritage craftsmanship with modern functionality.

By keeping production small and direct, we ensure fair pay for artisans and create pieces with soul handmade, eco-friendly, and free from synthetic fibers or chemicals.

The result: quality bags, shoes, and accessories that let you express personal style while carrying a beautiful piece of artistry and history.
